She was staring out of a window
The first time that I saw her
In a room full of strangers,
she was the only one I had eyes for.

She said nothing as I entered, looked over
and I "felt" her.

Beautiful face, long soft hair
Blacker than the midnight sky
Big brown, big eyes, long lashes
Deeper than a moon crater.

She said nothing as I entered,
looked over, God I love her.

We were insatiable, stoking a
raging passion, we knew to be wrong.
Love at first sight, crazy, exciting,
so very sweet, so very strong.

Stolen moments on Galaexy High, hiding,
lying, loving on the ship.
She gave it all and I took it,
Insouciant, on this love induced "trip".

They eventually found out, months later,
like we both knew they would.
The punishment was swift, severe.
Banishment, possibly for good.

One last look, perhaps a final hug and a kiss
Thought to myself as I walked over.
She said nothing as I entered, looked up,
Poker-face
Turned away
Cold shoulder.

Saw her through a store window
Downtown Manhattan, just yesterday.
Frozen, heart pounding, palms suddenly sweaty
Trying hard to relax and stay calm

She still "feels" the same, pretty face
Shorter, lighter hair, smaller eyes.
An uncanny moment of silence
In the midst of a summer storm

I inquired, she works here they told me.
Her name is Niambi.
Praying, hoping,
Seriously doubting, she still remembers me.

Walked up to the door, she smiles,
big, sweet, looks up from the counter.
She said nothing as I entered
Looked over

God I still love her
