Mer-Quest - For M

Mermaid on the stone
A yard and house
That's not your own
Looking up at the stars
Peering into passing trains
And the slow moving cars
Mermaid
Daydreaming on a celestial tour
Alone
What are you searching for?
Under this sky
What or why?
It's not in his or on his face
Not in this or that touch
It's not at that or that place
What could it be?
Lady with and without a tail
Mermaid on the stone
On whose wings do you now sail?
What's drawing you?
A desire so strong
Bar none
Is it a thing or someone?
Is it a man?
Is it a long lost dragon?
Mermaid on the stone
Mer faire Lady
What are you looking for?

Your patience string
How long is it?
Beyond the rain, dust and snow
How far back does it go?
What did you lose?
Is this a path you did not choose?
Knowing exactly
And at times not
What
You so desire
Mermaid on the stone
A fairytale heart on fire
Burning on an ancient kiss
Darkness rough
Is it scaly, the love you miss?
Mermaid on the stone
Is it a storied warrior
You are searching for
Intuition
Determination
Encoded memory
Perhaps a well scripted destiny
Is it one or all
That fuels your call
Long ago scenes
Well hidden in present genes
Waiting for your hero to come back home
Mermaid
Everywhere, the phantom hunter roams
Looking at so many, so many stones
In search of his treasured bone
The,
Mermaid on the stone

On the path to a cherished goal
You and yourself
Trusting only your heart and soul
Lady
With and without a tail
On whose shadowed wings
Do you pine to sail?
It is your great mission
Swimming through life
Lives
Time
The eyes from Bruw
Always on your haunted mind
Mermaid on the stone
Sitting still and still moving
Quickly against all will
When you find it you will know
When you find it you will go
Mermaid alone
A distant sky done told you so

Mermaid on the stone
How great a force it must be
This invisible galactic wind
Powering thee
Impervious to the shrewd yellow fox
Holding you steady outside the box
Looking out through the lens of a pen
Into the familiar of old friend
Steering through the deceptive calm
Of a hurricane called charm
Fixated on some distant horizon
And work yet to be done
Beyond each and every test
With unnatural zest
A prize, the prize
The truth hidden amongst a thousand lies
The golden calf
Somewhere out there
The other coveted half
A fairytale, the grandest of them all
Written on a twilight's claw-carved wall
For better or worst
Blessing or curse
Mermaid on the stone
Waiting for that special sound
Mer faire Lady
You are new and old dragon bound

Mermaid on the stone
They hold your hand
Scrutinize your eyes
The green, wild, running plant
Flowing
In many and one direction
Roots in the air
Determined to find
That one special pair
Mer faire Lady
Some need you
Some want you
And you want what you….
Do
To each his own
Mermaid
You are twilight bound
Mermaid on the stone
As tenacious as a mighty wolf hound

Dry your eyes
Save your tears
For the black skies
For the swirling black clouds
For the heavens red
For the fabulous garden in your head
Mermaid on the stone
Your quest will begin and end
Mer faire Lady
At the dragon's ancestral den

Marlyne on the stone
