It's Valentine season
Again
And this year
I find myself remembering…
Better years
Better days when
We felt we had eternity
Felt sure we were meant to be
Sure about destiny
It's sad and funny
Recalling the times
When…
Valentines
Meant
You and me
Together and apart
Back then
Babe you always had my heart

Without you
Things are old now
And
Things are brand new
I guess you're still wondering
How I heard
It's not important
I am what I am
Something you'll never understand
The lines between my words
Escaped you like
The migrating birds
I did what I had to
And you did what you wanted to
What they told you to
Like leaves falling from a tree
It is the way it's suppose to be
Happiness is often an illusion
The future will prove your solution
Thinking now of the way we ended it
I'll never forgive you
There was however a better script
But history
Has already written you and me
Regret is so not like wine
It'll only get bitter over time
I'm gone
Forever
The ghostly touch you'll long remember
The sound you'll sometimes hear
The shadow you'll always fear
It's early January, but for the good times
And an old promise
One last
Valentines
Yani
I still think of you fondly
Sometimes…

It wasn't as easy and it was easier
Than I thought it would be

This is the last red rhyme
For you from me

Happy Valentines
