Jumbie Dancer

Tall
Shorter than me
With a distance runner's elegant body
Far from shy
She wasn't afraid
To look me
Dead in the eye
Small, arrogant breasts
Regal
The Sashaying African queen
The sultriest smile
You've ever seen
At once
Virtuous and delightfully bad
Luscious, intricate lips
Hand-carved by god
She's irresistible
They say
Stay away from her
Why?
She's a Jumbie Dancer

It's a mysterious craft
This ritual of music
And movement
Tempo
The flurrying drum
Fife
Tambourine
The rhythm of the afterlife
“Turned”
A direct line to the dead
That can cure your ills
And…
Get the devil out of your head
It's something to behold they tell me
This magnificent creature
Tangoing with a Jumbie

Saturday night
Soiree
Dimmed lights
Only the music talking
On the outside
Listening
It's personal
Family thing
You can't come in
An easy Caribbean breeze
Blanket of twinkling stars
Moonlight on and among
The mango and coconut trees
Frustrated I walk away
Imagination running wild
Consumed by
A sexy praesul
Perhaps saving a child

Lost in shadows and thought
Jumped out of my skin
Blocking the path
Beckoning
I followed
Into the bush
Into a clearing
Clouded moon
Without speaking
No time to ponder
What might be amiss
A nimble move into my arms
A hungry kiss
Pleasure
Pain
A bite
Draws blood
And from her
A sinful laugh
Naughty and nice
It is and isn't
Her voice

And the power
Begins to unwind
From the bowels of my stomach
The genes igniting senses
Reacting to
The delectable evil
The benighted thrill
A woman I want
And something that wants me
The rush
Indescribable ecstasy
I can feel her
IT
Through the darkness
Unbridled
Avariciousness

Possessed
Hard to the touch
Surrendering
To a…
Daemonic lust

A Black Fire

The NecroWmancer
And his
