A door closes - for me

A door closes
In the glow of a New York sunset
A key turns on great memories
He's trying hard to forget

When life betrays you
And nobody wants to stay a while

Sometimes all you have left is a smile

When a door closes…

He's bounded by his future
present and the past
She wants a normalcy
that will never last
It ended, as it should
She just never understood
His passion for things beyond the sky
Never felt the call of Lacerta
Sensed the dragon fever is his eyes

And so a door closes

The mark between love and hate
The finest line
One act of betrayal
Bankrupts the love of a lifetime

And a door closes

It's August
And the pack is closing in
Someday soon
The predators will come calling
There'll be no more lies
No goodbyes
A prince among his kind
There's no second-guessing
When your blood tells you it's time

A door closes
In the glow of a New York sunset
And he has only one regret

I never got to hold your hand

When life betrays you
And nobody wants to stay a while

Sometimes all you have left is a sad smile

When
A door closes
Forever…
