Crossroad

Crossroad
A place where one street or road crosses another
Where the human gene
Runs into Lacerta

Twice before
Stood at the threshold of their door

Late one evening up at Soufriere
Glorious white
Less than two hundred meters
A spaceship in the fading daylight
And I balked…

Amersham
Field above the A.U.C
The dark of night
Falling red light
Made a solo trip
Within spitting distance
Of yet another ship
And I balked…

Turned and walked away
And she began to hum
A loud and persistent drum
Bees on a honeycomb
Followed me all the way home

Crossroad
A place where one street or road crosses another
Where the human gene
Runs into Lacerta

Behind me…
My carefree past
Sun, sea, emerald green and all that
A special place called Montserrat

On the left…
The “safe” path to normalcy
The arms of a woman I love who loves me
Unconditionally

On the right…
The “cool” road to hell
The dark side of me
A place I know not and all too well

And…
Straight ahead
My birthright
Children of Galaexy
Aliens in the night
Blood and glory
Chitauli
An "old" reptilian memory
Perpetually
Haunting me

Crossroad
A place where one street or road crosses another
Where the human gene
Runs into Lacerta

Traveled far and wide to get here
Solved some puzzles, conquered some fears
Waded through a lot of confusion
Intentional pollution
Hard times, bad times, good times
Took forever…
But I finally have a glimpse of the big picture

Been standing still for quite a while
And so
I contemplate
In which direction should I go?
Perhaps I will gain everything
I've always wanted
But I will lose something
No matter which path I take
I'll be burning bridges with any move I make

Perhaps I'll close my eyes and step into the ditch
Crossroad
It's a fucking bitch!

So sooner rather than later
With or without the shadow of Lacerta
Right or wrong
I'll write the final verse
Of an ancient galactic song

Crossroad
It's a heavy load
I'm coming up threes…
