The Chase

They were chasing him
Across the plains and valley highs
Dozens of those Indian guys
Cochito, Cochito
Death and destruction everywhere you go

He was enjoying himself immensely
The thrill of the hunt
The sinful pleasures of adrenaline city
Whatever he was
The shadow on the landscape
Tears of blood littered his escape
As fleeting as the summer dust
Blade from space that doesn't rust
Cochito, Cochito
Death and destruction everywhere you go

Jury, judge and executioner
Malefic by nature
Simply the best
With unerring zest
Effortlessly playing all three gory parts
Absenting heads
And...
Extricating still beating hearts
Slaughtering them at will
A brutal display of a now dormant skill
The puny bows and arrows
No match for the darkness that grows
Within…
Cochito, Cochito
Death and destruction everywhere you go

And in the end the compromise
An epiphany
A surprise
Across the plains and valley highs
Dozens of those Indian guys
An uneasy truce
They danced and celebrated
The game at deuce
Cochito, Cochito
Death and destruction everywhere you go

Always as before
Death and blood galore
Glimpses of a bygone history
Always someone or something
Chasing…
Different time
Place
Race...

One Man Alone

Always ahead of a chase
