Blood Sport

The rain was dripping off the leaves
Cold and damp
As they sneaked up on it
Like thieves
In the night
Pounding hearts and faint starlight

He melts into the tree
The chameleon
Activating his natural cloak
Of invisibility
He sees and feels them all
Senses their fear
It's exciting
Exhilarating
He's a predator in his element
Being hunted and hunting

It was larger this posse
This crowd of inferior avengers
Powered by loathing, anger, and ignorance
In their pursuit off the alien paladin
One by one they went down
Headless
Bloodied
To the soft, frigid ground
Yet they press on
With their foolhardy pursuit of
Lacerta's spawn

It's a sport for the reptile
A deadly game for them
He's harvesting trophies
For a collection grim

Faint sounds…
They have encircled their prey
Closing for the kill
Every dog gets his day
He melts into the tree
Shadows his way around
A natural feel for the night
Reaches out with the blades
A swift silent bite
Another head in the bag
Another human life lost
For the wall another stag

And he moves on deliberately
As the darkness erupts in chaos
They'll mourn the loss and keep coming
Could've had them all right there
Not as much fun
Not as much fear
It's a long way
From here to the morning
Stronger
Faster
Smarter
And…
Bloodthirsty

Who's going stop me?

Times change
Places change
Technology changes
Things get better
Things get worst
Everything and nothing is the same
I yearn for the sport
I miss the game

The joy of the kill
Striking at will
It's still in me
2003
New York City
My sanguinary
History…

Reptiles are naturally
Bloodthirsty

The rain was dripping off the leaves

Blood Sport
It never grows old...
