Watching her spaceship lift off, silently.
Have absolutely no idea where we are.
It's dark as hell, no moon, only shadows
and soft light from the stars.

Just my sister and I.
Scared, tired, hungry, trying to stay awake.
She left in a hurry, after a hug and a kiss,
promised she'd be back by daybreak.

It's not as if we've been abandoned
while she continues a mission.
We're being pursued, doggedly, trying to save us
she made a difficult decision.

I'm the firstborn, her only son.
Apple of her eye, heir to the throne.
Doesn't always make sense,
but she does whatever needs to be done.

She's smart, powerful, strong.
Renowned as a scientist, revered as a warrior.
Cold, ruthless, vicious, unforgiving.
An extraordinary killer.

My first girlfriend, God she was fine.
Puppylove, three weeks later the lady dumped me.
Came home crushed, she was there, didn't say anything,
just a hug, priceless, you can't buy that with money.

I know she's not a saint.
There are things even I can't defend.
They say she hates men, uses, abuses,
discards, maybe even kills them.

There were lots of times when we fought.
Didn't always agree.
Like that time she punished my sister,
confiscated my weapons, then banished Niambi.

I've been spoilt like few have.
There's nothing I can't do.
Left her ship and went flying with my friends,
joyriding in a war zone, knew we weren't supposed to.

They were waiting, ambushed us but she found me.
Bloodied, most of my friends already dead or dying.
Four weeks in the tank, just barely survived.
They said she never stopped crying.

She was there beside me, my first battle.
The day I got my first kill.
Excited, scared, shaking uncontrollably,
choking on adrenaline.

Through all the times, the good,
the great and the bad.
Not a single broken promise.
Never once mentioned my dad.

So now we've come full circle,
far from home, stranded again.
My sister and I, waiting for her to return,
we just don't know when.

It goes without saying though,
if she can, she will come.
That's my Ayndria, she's not perfect.
She's just my mom.
I Miss You
