Seems like only yesterday
Shaded by a massive old tamarind tree
Sitting at the foot of a ghaut
Husking yet another dry coconut
He's a regular guy
Smarter than you think
Quiet and shy
Fire in the cold brown eyes
There's a whisper on the valley breeze
Persistent
In and around the many green trees
They are reaching out to you
Who are they?
You have no clue
Can't tell a soul
Nothing they can do
The things you see
Voices they can't hear
Were meant for just one
You
Darkness falls and he goes into the hills
His favorite time of day
Stargazing is one of his biggest thrills
A rock within earshot of Chances Peak
Orion overhead
Still unsure of what it is that he seeks
Ten-twenty on a quiet, cloudless
Weekday night
A spaceship falling from the sky
Bathing him in a soft red light
Alone in a pasture
Shadows filing from a vessel
You can see but not hear
Wanting desperately to get away
Paralyzed by an intense fear
Surrounded by two long rows
Of something that…
God only knows what or where
A low voice that says…
You are why we are here
He watches in disbelief as it approaches
Unable to discern form or shape
Close enough to touch it drops to it's knees
My lord, my king
Extends a glowing blue-green sphere
Containing a single black and silver ring
You're suddenly unbelievably calm
Fearless in the eye of an alien storm
Heart thumping wildly
Hair on edge
I reach for my destiny
And from somewhere far…
A distant hum
As ancient creatures begin to sing
You've come full circle son
It is and it isn't
A Montserratian thing
The summer of 89
War clouds gathering as you leave
It will never be the same
The wind and fire signaling
The beginning of another long, glorious
And bloody intergalactic war game
Awakening
Galaexy Rising
Awakening
